Starting in 1994 with a focus on disability issues, the Coromandel Independent Living Trust (or CILT) has become a broad-based community services provider for the Upper Coromandel peninsula.
We were the first organisation in the Waikato to sign an integrated contract with Government.
We belong to six national federations/associations and operate the following services under a community development model (where services are provided in response to need):
Providing opportunities for life-long learning
Empowering young people to participate, achieve and contribute

Providing school children aged 5-12 years
with the opportunity to build self-confidence and learn valuable life skills
Day programmes in Coromandel for people with a disability
Day programmes in Whitianga for people with a disability
Information, advice & support
Computers for public use & the Heartland Service Centre
Mobility van bookings & volunteer driver service
Information and communication technology equipment installed
in Colville, Coromandel and Community Waikato Hamilton
Affordable Housing
Quality, affordable housing for older people, those with disability or on low incomes
Supporting the community to achieve outcomes identified in the Community Plan
